Elder Scrolls insanity

So I have had a taste of Elder Scrolls and I want more. But the DOS games aren't worth the hours to spend learning how to just start them up, and I don't have the money to buy Oblivion or Skyrim. The solution, finding Morrowind in a used game store that I have credit in. And for three bucks in credit I got tribunal. Bloodmoon was more than I had so I let it go for another time. So I installed and Tribunal without a hitch. And I  got a witch hunter and a Knight. Then I got the credit to get Bloodmoon. And I did, I went home, the disc was in good shape so I put it in and expected Tribunal-like easiness.
I was wrong. It installed easily, but when I pushed play it gave me an error message. So I looked up the error message. I was not alone in this error message. Some people said install everything manually. I tried that, no result. Some people said re-install Bloodmoon. No result. Some think the order you install is important, it was in the right order. I've uninstalled and re-installed. I've had it. There maybe a magic cure for it, but I'm not going to spend that much time. I'm pissed that I have to start over anyways.
Other than that I've enjoyed it so far.
And this does happen in game, and sold the scrolls because I would have been the wizard.
